Case Study
The ‘BreakDown Blister Card’
In response to a client brief to achieve a fully biodegradable & recyclable alternative to a conventional direct-seal blister card, FACER have partnered with Macpac to create the solution.
Objectives
Create a fully biodegradable & recyclable blister card solution whilst retaining the product visibility that a standard blister card offers. Ensure that the blister can be removed free of paper fibre (contamination) to enable the blister to be recycled in addition to the blister card. Should the recycling opportunity be missed & end in landfill, the packaging solution should also be fully biodegradable.
Solution
The ‘BreakDown Blister Card’, a fully recyclable & biodegradable trapped blister card solution. Finished with FACER’s in-line IR applied water-based blister varnish, uniquely ‘spot’ applied allowing the blister to be removed free of paper fibre. Utilising Macpac’s biodegradable BreakDown-PET blister. Printed with soybean vegetable oil based ink, finished with water-based blister varnish.
